We've shown a lot of people some of the remotest parts of Australia and here's
what some of them have said... |
|
Simpson crossing: Bill
organised a wonderful ten days with expertise and vision and this
coupled with a group that has got on really well together has made for
a truly memorable trip. |

Len
Beadell's tracks / Kimberley / Mitchell plateau:
Travelling the Len Beadell
tracks have allowed us to appreciate this vast area of our country.
The wonderful flora and the trip to the Kimberleys was a bonus. Thank
you Bill, Bob and Trevor for a wonderful trip and a safe return. |

This is the luckiest girl
under the outback sun having had this incredible trip under safe
guidance of Bill, Bob and Trevor. Experiencing the beauty of
landscape flora and fauna of different deserts and the Kimberleleys.
Another trip to remember forever. This was an incredible journey.
Thank you so much. |

Great company, good food and
travel over desert tracks to places that I have dreamed of. I'm sure
Bill that you would be the only one to take us on such a journey. An
unforgettable holiday! Many thanks Bill and to Bob and Trevor all of
you so capable. |

The rain had been falling for
weeks & weeks
With boggy plains and flowing creeks
Lake Eyre was filling the track was iffy
Bill said rubbish we'll be there in a jiffy
Bob said "o'right" and Trevor said nothing
But soon those Nissans were Revving and Bucking
"There's nothing to stop us on this track" they said
"That is until we came to "Big
Red"
|
We had opted to do the
Simpson Trek
And only make it by the skin of our neck
With help from the men who drove and drove
And showed off their skills on Fire and Stove
We all had good food, friendship and fun
All types of Adventure under the Sun
So thanks to Bill and Bob and Trevor
We all have memories to last for Ever |

"Up
The Birdsville Track"
A Pioneer !
Adventure best !
(Would someone help me with my tent?)
Explore the Outback! Shore to shore
(Please tell me - where's the nearest store?)
Wide open country ! That’s for me !
(May we stop somewhere nice for tea?)
Ah ! Now ! - we're on the Birdsville track !
Hash country this ! We won't look back !
I Know this is a Dry Brown Land
I Know there's heat and dust and sand.
But Horror ! Shock ! I find I'm wrong
Grey clouds approach ! The winds are strong
Its not a bit like I was told.
How come the desert's Freezing Cold?
The rain pours down ! The sky is black !
How can this be the Birdsville Track ?
Bourke thought there was an inland sea
Who found some Water? - It was ME !
More
water - Mud - round every bend
We might get stuck ! How will
this end?
Colder and Colder ! Driving rain !
Bumpy and Muddy - Flood terrain !
A rigorous raucous rattling
ride
A Slippery Slithering Swerving Slide
|
Three cheers for Nissan ! (Mode:"Patrol")
But who is really in control?
Who do we need for this hard job?
Its Solid Bill and lanky Bob !
The danger's real - things
could go wrong
But Bill and Bob are calm and strong
As we drive on, their jaws grow tauter
There is no track ! There's only water !
The mud is sticky, deep and mucky
Our drivers? Careful, wise and plucky
And even though the skies won't clear
Birdsville at last is getting near.
Perhaps we have nothing more to fear?
The Diamantina Bridge is here !
The water here is at its deepest !
Its level on the trucks, the steepest !
But Bill and Bob go bravely through
The Birdsville Pub is now in view !
We got to Birdsville ! reached our goal !
(But more than that - its touched my Soul)
We're safe at last ! the journey's done
A great adventure and great fun!
[Praise from the past - to Bourke & Wills
Praise from today to Bobs and
Bills!]
